Dear Jerry:
I hope that you had a nice holiday, and that you and your family are all well. I am still researching, for the most part, at Lindesberg parish, and I have been particularly continuing my search through the clerical survey records. As usual, there is a new set of pedigree charts.
The first few family group sheets are for children to Joran Ersson and Anna Joensdotter shown on pedigree chart #2 (family #7 which you have). Joran Ersson and his wife are your 7th great grandparents. Their sons are thus your 6th great grand uncles, and include the following:
Anders Joransson was married in 1750 to Kiersten Hansdotter from Ingelshyttan (family #711). They resided at Ingelshyttan, where their children were born. I have thus far found record of five children.
Johan or Jan Joransson was married, also in 1750 to Maria Hansdotter (family #11). They also resided at Ingelshyttan, where they had eight children. After Johan died his widow was remarried to Eric Pehrsson (family #357) with whom she had one child.
Next we go to pedigree chart #3 where you will find the family of Lars Johansson and Kirsten Hansdotter (family #46). They are your 8th great grandparents from Wasselhyttan in Lindesberg. They had three children before the husband died in 1719. In 1720 the wife was remarried to Per Larsson (family #583) with whom she also had three children.
A son from the second marriage above, Hans Parsson was married in 1747 to Maria Ersdotter (family #714). The wife was reportedly from Ljusnarsberg. After their marriage, they resided at Wasselhyttan in Lindesberg. I have found record of five children in this family.
The lines of Lars Johansson are continued on pedigree chart #18. He was the son of Johan Eliasson and Marit Larsdotter from Wasselhyttan (family #86 which you have). A son from this couple, Elias Johansson, who is your 8th great grand uncle, was married twice. His first wife was Karin Christophersdotter (family #253) and his second wife was Catharina Jansdotter (family #237). With the first wife, Elias Johansson had three daughters. I have now discovered an error in the parish registers regarding the marriage of one of these daughters.
Previously I sent you family group sheet #238 for Hans Hansson and Anna Eliasdotter, which is apparently wrong. The marriage record, in the parish registers, shows the wife as Anna Eliasdotter. However, the clerical survey records, and births of the children, show the wife as Maria Eliasdotter, which appears to be correct. Therefore, you will find a new sheet for Hans Hansson and Maria Eliasdotter (family #720). Please delete and destroy the old incorrect family (family #238).
The lines of Kirsten Hansdotter are continued on pedigree chart #19. She was the daughter of Hans Ersson and wife Ingeborg Ersdotter (family #87). They are your 9th great grandparents.
Now to go back to pedigree chart #6, there is an updated sheet on Lars Larsson and Maria Nilsdotter (family #18). They are your 6th great grandparents. You will note that I have now located the marriage date and record on this family.
Lars Larsson was the son of Lars Svensson Grasten and his wife Maria Larsdotter (family #22). They are your 7th great grandparents and were originally from Ljusnarsberg parish.
Maria Nilsdotter, wife of Lars Larsson, was the daughter of Nils Hansson Berggren and his wife Bryta Ersdotter (family #23). They are also your 7th great grandparents. I have found record of eight children. I also found record of another child to Nils Hansson Berggren, but the wife's name is different. This child was born in 1762, but the wife is listed as Catharina Nilsdotter (family #719). I need to do further research on this.
To date I have not been able to locate the death of Bryta Ersdotter. The last clerical survey record, which goes to 1764 still shows that she was living, and does not show the child Olof. However, the birth/chr record in 1762, clearly states that Catharina Nilsdotter was the wife, and it also is clearly your relative. I have not yet been able to locate a later clerical survey record. I need to check the death records; I checked the marriage records and could not find a marriage for your ancestor and Catharina Nilsdotter. It is possible that the clerk got the wife's name wrong, or it is possible that the child was illegitimate, but that is not stated. So further research is needed to try to clarify this. I will report further at a later date.
Anna Ersdotter was the sister of Byta Ersdotter above. She was married in 1740 to Olof Olsson (family #669). I have now found record of eleven children in this family.
On pedigree chart #7 you will see the family of Pehr Hansson and Elisabeth Olsdotter (family #186 which you have). Their daughter Elizabeth Pehrsdotter was married in 1740 to Hans Larsson, who appears to have been from Ramsberg (family #667).
I have also found some more information on one of the sheets which I sent you last time. Erich Andersson and Ingeborg Bengtsdotter (family #10) are shown on pedigree chart #10. Their daughter, Ingeborg Ersdotter was married in 1686 to Jons Erichsson from Lindesberg (family #450). I have now found record of five children born at Biorneboda in Lindesberg. However, I could not locate any children at Lindesberg immediately after their marriage, so I assume that they likely resided at Ramsberg for several years after their marriage. Here again, further research is needed.
The remaining few family group sheets are for various other cousins. The relationship is listed on each sheet.
Please let me know if you have any questions on any of these families. I look forward to hearing from you again soon, and continuing with your research.
Sincerely yours,
Linda K. Larson
