Dear Jerry,
Recently I received 2 more answers as a result of the letters I wrote to villages near Eschwege. The pastors did forward my letters to the Eschwege Lutheran archive. Once place is Oberduenzebach and the earlier records are included in another parish. Nothing was found on Martin Brill, the same goes for the village Weidenhausen.
The pastor from Reichensachsen found nothing before 1763, yet he sent 2 copies of baptisms associated with a Martin Brill:
Child: Johannes, son of Martin Brill in the military was christened 28 Jun. 1763. Godparent was Johannes Brill, blacksmith in Abterode.
Child: Johann Martin, son of Johann Martin Brill, godparent Joh. Martin Brill and Joh. Nicolaus Brill, a master blacksmith in Harmuthsachsen, the child's father's brother.
I wonder if this is the Johann Martin born 1720 in Abterode, he has a brother Johann Nicolaus, the reason why he left would be he joined the military. At this point I have not received an answer from Kleinensee.
I have booked a flight to Germany on 22 September to October 22nd. My plan is to go to the neighboring Lutheran archive of Bad Hersfled. Many Brill seem to be in this district, also. No records have been filmed.
I will also try and go to some parishes next to Eschwege, but are not part of the Eschwege Lutehran district. These are acutally in the Sachsen-Meiningen district, formerly behind the iron curtain. Such as Diedorf, Lengenfeld, Hildebrandshausen and others. This whole area has lots of Brill people.
I will be doing this research in the week beginning September 29th. I will be needing your prayers.

SUMMER REPORT:
Well, this summer is gone. It seemed to me like Sunday came every-other day, the weeks flew by. I have kept names at the temples and I believe all who have written informing me that names were needed have received them.
I have something to report on the research on the Amelia Augusta Anderson line going on in Sweden. The lady who had been researching for us has gone out of the research business or is too busy to work on that line. I consequently set out on the internet to find another competent Swedish researcher as there are many in our family who are interested in this line.
Over time I discovered a new researcher who has agreed to pursue the research on this line. You will remember that the line of Andrew Anderson, father of Amelia, was discovered to be in error and new research needs to be conducted to discover his lineage.
Some in our family have contributed funds to further this research. Jack and Mary, Dorothy, Aunt Maurine among others. This is to let them know that I have sent $600 from those funds to Sweden to initiate research with a new researcher.
I have also kept Trudy funded throughout the summer and we are pretty close to having her account used up. Her trip is paid for to Germany and the research hours there are paid for. We can always use some contributions when she returns and gives us a status report on what she has learned.
I would suggest that finding Martin Brill is going to very difficult, but that has not deterred our efforts in the past and the Lord has opened the way on many occasions. I think of how hard it was to find Charles Geissinger and Michael Maurer, and now those lineages are known. If those members of our extended Mower family would keep Trudy's research efforts in their fasting and prayers, I believe we will be successful.
REPORT ON SUMMER GUISINGER SUCCESSES:
Thanks to Nathan Mower's web site, I have come into contact with yet another GUISINGER relative in California. She is Kathy Ginter and she descends from a previously unknown child of Charles Geissinger. Rachel Guisinger, daughter of Charles Geissinger, lived in Bedford County, Pennsylvania and married Nicholas Boor. They then moved to Ohio with the other brothers and sisters (except Michael and Catherine Mower, who stayed in Bedford County). In Ohio they had a family. We knew Charles Geissinger had several daughters, but we did not know their names since marriage records had not been found. Now they have been found for Rachel. I will enclose a copy of my correspondence with Kathy for your records. It is really amazing to me how this family is being pulled together and slowly, but surely we are discovering who the family is.

Dear Jerry, Thank you for all the information you sent.
Here is some census info I have: 1820, Madison, Perry Co., Ohio: Nicholas Boor. Males: 1 under 10, 2 under 16, 1 over 45. Females: 3 under 10, 1 16 but under 26, 1 26 but under 45, 1 over 45.
1830, Clayton,Perry Co., Ohio: Rachel Boor. Males: 1 10-15, 1 15-20, 1 20-30; Females: 1 under 5, 1 5-10, 1 10-15 and 1 30-40 (Rachel).
Nicholas is gone in the 1830 census, I have a note that I looked for probate and couldn't find any. I have another note from land records that in 1821 his land in Madison was sold at sheriff's auction. Do you know why they would have a sheriff's auction? I don't know what that means.
I couldn't find anything in my notes for 1840. I don't like the census' with the columns and only numbers describing people. The census taker could easily make a mistake and they are too confusing trying to figure out who is who. Someone could be a hired hand or aunt or uncle or parent or nephew and on and on. If Rachel was born in 1788, the 1830 census is either an error by the enumerator or me or she fudged her age by a year or two. Also I have no idea who the older woman is in the 1820 census.
I don't know if the Lutheran Church record has been microfilmed. One of
the first things I thought of was that you may be able to find other people
you are looking for at that Church since you didn't know about it. When
Richard Russell wrote to me it was March 1985. (He is not descended from a
Guisinger, he is interested in Boor so he wouldn't have looked for
Guisinger.) Back then he said that they wouldn't allow the records to be
copied. I don't have any notes as to whether I looked for it at the LDS
library, but I must've. I like to have copies of original documents for my
documentation. I would hope that they wouldn't refuse the LDS Church to
microfilm their records!!! I haven't checked lately as I haven't worked on
this line in years. Next time I go to the Family History Center, I'll
check. That probably won't be until the end of the month. I have an 8 year
old and a 5 year old who go back to school then. When I go I'm going to
order a microfilm you have listed and look for Rachel Boor. Thanks again.

From Jerry: I will keep you informed as we learn more about this family. I have written James Boor, a genealogist in Bedford County, Pa. He is interested in the Boor family of course, and might have information on Nicholas. Looks like we are off and running for a good fall season. Thanks to all who support us.
