JUNE 1994 NEWSLETTER
Summer is here and we are looking forward to some research that will show more GEISINGER connections in the area around Goetzis, Austria. The first submissions have been made to area temples of GEISINGER relatives. If the temple in your area needs some please advise. Trudy is now finished with extracting the Catholic records of Goetzis, Austria. She has located records of Altach, a village a short distance from Goetzis, which had a Catholic parish beginning in the early 1820's. She will extract these records for relatives. We expect a report from her on her trip to Goetzis. I am going to ask Trudy if she would consider coming to our family reunion in Payson on July 16th and reporting her trip to our family association. She can also tell you how she plans on finding Michael MAURER.

JOHN HALL UPDATE For that branch of the family connected to John HALL, Jack and Mary RASMUSSEN have made lots of progress on his children's lines. John HALL died in Stokes Co., NC in 1826. It appears that John HALL and wife, Elizabeth TUTTLE had these children:
1. Lewis HALL md. Mary (Polly) SCOTT (lived in Surry, NC) 2. Mary (Polly) HALL md. Francis SCOTT (lived in Laurel Co., KY) 3. Martha HALL 4. Harrison HALL md. Rebecca EAST (lived in KY and IL) 5. Elizabeth HALL md. Peter ROBERSON (lived in KY and MO) 6. Susanna HALL md. Eli JOHNSON (lived in IL and MO)
It appears Lewis lived and died in Surry Co., NC and some of his children and wife Mary were still living there in 1850. Mary HALL has been traced with her husband, Francis SCOTT into Laurel Co., KY and living by her in 1830 was the Harrison HALL family. It was not known that Harrison had gone to KY. Peter ROBERSON and his wife, Susanna HALL were found living not far away in Monroe Co., KY in 1830. By 1840 the Peter ROBERSON family and the Eli JOHNSON family are living in Newton Co., MO. Harrison HALL was believed dead and his son, Winston HALL was living in MO also.
The SCOTT family has been located in Laurel Co., KY, and a wealth of information about these descendant has been collected.
3 May 1994 Dear Jerry and Tedi Jeen: We're really excited about the information we're enclosing on the Scott family. This information seems to show what happened to Francis and Mary at least and 3 of their sons and many other people wishing to be found, such as the people we found in the Scott Cemetery and also many of the Tuttles who settled in Laurel Co., and their extended families.
The trail is narrowing down and clues of children are being found. Harrison is alleged to have gone to Springfield, IL where supposedly he died about 1834. It is logical that this happened because his daughter, Elizabeth HALL shows up in Nauvoo, IL (not far from Springfield) in the 1840's. It was here she married John BILLS and came West with the Saints, where she eventually md. Henry MOWER Jr. Her brother Winston HALL, is known to have gone to Jasper Co., Missouri and his descendants have been located there.
ADDITIONAL MOWER INFORMATION REQUESTED
I would like to publish additional research on the various lines of the MOWER family if those individuals researching those lines would kindly send me something. Does anyone out there have info on John MOWER (son of Henry Sr.) who md. Sarah Ann BIDWELL? He was born 11 Oct 1826 Bedford Co., Pa and died 19 Mar 1896. She was born 12 Jul 1830 and died _____? Did they have children? Does anyone have a life history about him?
Has anyone traced the descendants of Hannahette MOWER and Joseph BIDWELL? They had 4 children: Sarah Elizabeth md. Charles Franklin WADE; Joseph Jr. md. Susan M. WHEELER; George Henry md. Mary Ann ROBINSON; Amelia Jane md. James WEBSTER. What about the children of these families? Anybody know about these lines?
I am meeting on June 14th with Rosemary LEYDEN, at the FHL lobby at 8:00 a.m. in Salt Lake. She is our GUISINGER cousin from Akron, OH. We plan on giving her and her husband the Temple Square tour. She is a descendant of Michael GUISINGER, a brother to our Catherine GEISSINGER, wife of Michael MOWER. This is the Catholic branch of the family.
With the Goetzis records now finished and Trudy iniating the research into the villages close to Goetzis where GEISSINGER families were known to have lived, we are wrapping up the Austrian phase of the research. It won't take but a summer and we can plunge into the MOWER line. I am very excited to see the progress we have made with the GEISSINGER family. I will be making an Ancestral File submission of all those families as soon as we stop adding to them. We cannot but be pleased at the progress we have made thanks to much help.
