Clista Madge Hartley MowerJan. 4, 1914 ~ May 26, 2005Clista Madge Hartley Mower, 91, Parma, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005, in Nampa. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Parma. Interment will follow at the Parma Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home, Weiser. Clista was born Jan. 4, 1914, to Urban and Maude Mower Hartley in Fairview, Utah. December 4, 1934, she married Lewis Olen Mower. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Latter-day Saint temple in Manti, Utah. They were the parents of six children. Clista was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served humbly and faithfully in all of her callings. She was a very talented seamstress, made hundreds of beautiful quilts, wrote wonderful poetry, and made many netted doilies and other crafts. In 1953, they moved to Parma where they resided until after the death of her husband. When Clista's health began to decline, she went to live with her daughter, Lana, in Ontario for seven years, after which she moved into Trinity Mission in Nampa. She received excellent care and was much loved by the people there. Clista is survived by her children, Marna Lee (Keith) Vickers, Keith Hartley Mower, Lana Eileen (Dwain) Deines, Derek Stuart (Pat) Mower, Michelle Ardis (Jeffrey) Pryor; 74 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends, including Todd Brown, who she treated as an adopted son. Clista is preceded in death by her husband; son, Neil; parents; two brothers, Elmo and Don Hartley; a sister, Karma Ellsworth; and a great granddaughter, Kylene Vickers. |
