Hi Jerry; This is Robert S. Mowery here in Shenandoah Co., Va. I am
not a member of your origination. I have occasionally viewed your
Maurer site in hopes your group has listed data that will connect my
line. I have been researching my line here in Shenandoah Co., Va. about
10 years and now have over 1600 Maurer, Mowrer, Mourer, Mowry, Mowrey &
Mowery descendants in my file. To date I have not found the origins of
my pioneer prior to his arrival to Shenandoah Co.,Va. in 1750. I have
researched the Pa. & Md. records with no results. Have also paid
professional genealogist to research his life before coming to
Shenandoah Co., Va. with no results. I am beginning to loose interest in
my research and will publish a book soon on my line. I would like to add
my pioneer Maurer data to your Maurer files in hopes that as your data
grows, we may connect.
My line starts with: Jurg Maurer who arrived here in Augusta Co. Va.
(Shenandoah Co., Va. now) in 1750. He was of German decent. One of the
founders of the first Lutheran Church in 1753. Signed all documents as
Jerg or Jurg Maurer. Was known as George Mourer in court records.

Jurg Maurer was probably in the early 1700s about the time frame your
Michael Maurer was born. Could be cousins. Just keep this info. in your
files in case you find out they are.
