Dear Jerry:
I have again completed your research hours. All of the research this time has been at Ramsberg parish in Orebro, continuing the work on your ancestors and relatives there. As usual, you will first find an updated set of pedigree charts.
The first family group sheet is from pedigree chart #2. Eric Ersson and Catarina Larsdotter (family #47) are your 8th great grandparents. They were married in 1683 at Ramsberg, and I have now found record of another child. These lines are continued on pedigree charts #10 and #11.
Eric Ersson was the son of Erich Andersson and his wife Ingeborg (family #443) from Korberg in Ramsberg. It appears that they were married about 1642 and were the parents of nine children. In addition to Erich, I have located marriages and/or families on several of the other children:
Anders Ersson was married in 1679 to Anna Larsdotter (fam #444). It appears that many of their children died young, although I was unable to locate death dates, nor chr dates on some. I did locate marriages of two of the children: Ingeborg Andersdotter was married in 1702 to Nils Nilsson (family #470) from Snuggan in Lindesberg; and Erich Andersson was married in 1705 to Ingebor Johansdotter (family #473).
Ingeborg Ersdotter, daughter of Erich Andersson and Ingeborg, was married in 1686 to Jons Erichsson from Biorerke in Lindesberg parish (family #450). I have not checked at Lindesberg for children.
Johan Ersson, son of Erich Andersson and Ingeborg, was married about 1686 (likely at Lindesberg) to Anna Andersdotter and they were the parents of at least 13 children (family #447). At least 11 of these died young, and possibly 12. Clerical survey records show that the son who lived, Erich Johansson, was married about 1717 to Ingebohr Larsdotter (family #469).
Anna Ersdotter, daughter of Erich Andersson and Ingeborg, was married in 1683 to Johan Olofsson (family #448). They resided at Ostra Loa in Ramsberg and were the parents of eleven children. At least seven of these died young.
Next we move to pedigree chart #11, which shows the parents of Catarina or Carin Larsdotter. She was from Hakansboda in Ramsberg, the daughter of Lars Martensson and Anna Nilsdotter (family #445). They are your 9th great grandparents. I have only found record of four children, but there were likely others who died young. Two of the other children were married as follows:
Lars or Lasse Larsson was apparently married about 1670 to Ingeborg Eskilsdotter (family #449). It was their daughter, Anna Larsdotter, who was married to Olof Mansson (family #467). Previously I had thought that it was the sister of Lars Larsson, but that was incorrect. Olof Mansson and Anna Larsdotter were the parents of at least seven children.
Matts Larsson, son of Lars Martensson and Anna Nilsdotter, was married about 1679 to Catharina Ohlsdotter (family #446). They also resided at Hakansboda and were the parents of seven children. I located marriages on three of these: Anna Mattsdotter was married in 1705 to Nils Bengtsson (family #471); Karin Mattsdotter was married, also in 1705, to Lars Bengtsson (family #472); and Kerstin Mattsdotter was married in 1712 to Matts Ohlsson (family #480). It appears that Nils Bengtsson and Lars Bengtsson were brothers.
Now, if you will return to pedigree chart #2, you will see the family of Joran Ersson and Anna Joensdotter (family #7). They are your 7th great grandparents. You will note that I have located one more child in this family. Also enclosed is an updated sheet on Pehr Joensson and his wife Cherstin Ersdotter (family #382). Pehr Joensson was the brother of Anna Joensdotter listed above. I have also located another child in the family of Pehr Joensson.
As previously reported, Joran Ersson was the son of Eric Mattsson and his wife Elisabet Larsdotter (family #26). I have now located the marriages of some of the other children in this family:
It appears that Kerstin Ersdotter was married in 1712 to Nils Mattsson of Rosendahl (family #479).
Elisabet Ersdotter was married in 1705 to Matts Pahlsson of Grassberg (family #475). They apparently moved to Rista where their first child was born.
Brita Ersdotter was married in 1709 to Lars Ersson (family #477) as previously reported. I have now found another child in this family, and there are likely others.
On the next generation back, which is shown on pedigree chart #14, the clerical survey records show that Eric Mattsson was the son of Matts Larsson and his first wife, Margaret (family #377). It appears that they had five children. The youngest of these, Elisabeth Mattsdotter, was married in 1684 to Lars Nilsson (family #464). Matts Larsson was apparently married secondly to Elisabet (family #387).
Next we go to pedigree chart #9 to the family of Mans Jacobsson and Anna Pehrsdotter (family #85). They were the parents of eight children. You will note that I have located birth dates on all of the children now.
As shown on pedigree chart #56, Mans Jacobsson was the son of Jacob Jonsson and his first wife of Sorsjon (family #100). The wife's name is not known, but they apparently had at least two children. The daughter, Maria Jacobsdotter, was married twice, first to Berthil Pedersson (family #451) and secondly to Johran Mattsson (family #466). Maria died in 1701, shortly after the birth of her last child. Her widower, Johran Mattsson, was remarried to Carin Ohlsdotter (family #483). Various records list him as Johan, Johran, or Joran.
Lastly we go to pedigree chart #55 to the family of Nils Haraldsson and Sigrid Andersdotter (family #99). They were from Korslangen in Ramsberg and are your 9th great grandparents. Their daughter Sara was married in 1692 to Daniel Mattsson (family #440). I have found record of three children.
That covers the research I have done for you this period. I hope that you and your family are well. Please send let me know when you receive your package. There is still a great deal of research to be done at Ramsberg parish on these families.
Sincerely yours, Linda K. Larson
I received some information on some Maurer families in Loudon Co. Va and sent this information to Trudy to investigate to see if these families might be ours. In her opinion they are not. Here is her report:
Research Report Trudy Schenk February 2005
Hi Jerry,
I studied the recent papers you sent me on a Maurer family. The place Hoch Eschweiler is not near Jungholzhausen. There is no connection between your Maurer line and this Maurer line. Many of the PA families went the same route in their travelings. Remember I cross referenced many names that were on the same ship as your Maurer and then appeared in the same church records in Pennsylvania.
The name Maurer is somewhat common in Germany and not everybody is related. These are no relations of yours as far as I can see. Your Maurers were in the Lutheran congregations not in the reformed after they emigrated and the Jungholzhausen records are not reformed there are no reformed parishes in Wuerttemberg.
I will be in Germany this May and doing research in the Kassel archives let me know if you are interested in some more research on the Brill and related lines.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
Sincerely yours,
Trudy
